The Galileo Open Air Cinema is proud to present the second year of their ‘Local Heroes’ campaign, partnering with incredible brands including Cape Town Magazine, Magic828 Music Radio, Spur and Coca-Cola.
They are requesting your help to uncover some of the Mother City’s local unsung heroes. From community-builders to charities and all the everyday do-gooders; if you know of a great cause in your community or someone doing something – no matter how big or small – to help make the lives of others around them better, they’d like to hear about it.
The idea is to say a big thank you to these local heroes by hosting an outdoor movie event aimed at giving back to those in need of a night off, a word of thanks and some recognition. Apart from the movie screening on the house, complimentary drinks from Coca-Cola and a delicious burger and chips by the good guys at Spur, are all generously donated.
The event takes place on 13 March 2020, at the beautiful Central Park (Century City) with the screening of ‘A Dogs Journey’ under the stars. Family-friendly and suitable for all ages, this heart-warming film will be loved by all. If you’d like to attend the event and pay tribute to the local heroes, you can book tickets at www.thegalileo.co.za.
The Galileo Open Air Cinema plans to make this an annual event as part of their screening calendar and would like to invite businesses and individuals alike to be part of this community initiative and suggest ways to amplify the success of this project.
To nominate YOUR local hero, please head to www.thegalileo.co.za/local-heroes/ and give back to those who are always giving back.
Nominations close Monday, 09 March 2020.
