Corona showed the Mother City just how a summer festival should be done with the first Corona SunSets Festival that took place on Friday 16th December at the picturesque Bungalow, Clifton.
From the stage with its luminescent Mandala to the beautiful SunSet girls, the SunSet moment, the local acts, the international acts, and much, much more – the experience was one for the books from start to finish.
Upon arrival guests walked down through Corona gates to the Camps Bay field, which was transformed, into a sandy, beachy, festival haven, with various areas to chill out, eat, drink and dance. Of the over 5, 000 partygoers that attended, not one person left unhappy or without some beautiful memories having been made.
The entertainment lineup included local musicians, vocalists and DJs like Timo ODV, Kyle Watson, Cara Frew, Strange Loving, Chunda Munki & Vimo, Crazy White Boy, Good Luck, Tresor, Sketchy Bongo, Aewon Wolf, dj low, Kyle Deutsch and Shekinah. These were all responsible for warming up the crowd for the main event, which was given to the capable hands and headphones of Sam Feldt, Nora En Pure and the main headliner, Duke Dumont, to bring home. The final song of the night was fittingly Ocean Drive, one of Duke Dumont’s biggest and most well known tracks, and a fitting title for an ocean-side dance floor closer.
Social media blew up on the day with everyone that was there bragging about it, and anyone that wasn’t talking about it. There were over 88, 000 people talking about the Corona SunSets Festival, and the event and campaign hashtag, #coronasunsetsza, was officially trending on Twitter.
For those that couldn’t be there, know that you will have another chance! The Corona SunSets team have a big announcement planned for early 2017 – so be sure to listen up and make sure you don’t miss out twice!
