DJs for Bread

Cape Town at Night
Bigger Than Me in association with Heart Capital, Black Mango and the Breathe Sunshine Africa Music Conference and BPM Magazine present “DJs for Bread” social impact events taking place from the 9th to the 10th of November 2013.

The events successfully combines charity work with fun. Basically you will be able to register for DJs for Bread, then donate your time to the Food Pods project in Phillipe taking place on Saturday the 9th of November.

When you donate/volunteer your time, you earned yourself a free ticket to the DJs for Bread gig taking place on the 10th of November at Fiction at 8pm. On the contrary, not volunteering will mean payment of R50 for entrance to Fiction on 10 November. These tickets are available here from Webtickets and all money received from ticket sales will be donated towards the Food Pods project.

Greg Viljoen from Bigger Than Me said: “The whole point of the concept is about being Bigger Than You “Me” and giving back to something that not only empowers people but is also sustainable in the long run.”

On the 9th of November 2013, the project will be a celebration of food, highlighting the issue of food security in South Africa. Volunteers can expect to plant seeds, transfer seedlings to other growing pods as well as harvesting produce for the actual Food Pods that will be distributed through the Food Pods network in Phillipe.

The 10th of November 2013, the gig will be the reward element of the DJs for Bread campaign and volunteers will gain free access to Fiction, Long Street.
