The HQ & Dare to Share Annual Charity Dinner will take place at the famous HQ restaurant, situated in Cape Town’s historic Heritage Square on Wednesday, 9 July 2014.
For R250 enjoy a welcome drink and a three-course meal of HQ’s (crisp salad, sirloin steak with thin-cut fries, and dessert) paired with delicious Diemersdal wines at each course. 60% of each ticket will be donated to the Dare to Share appointed charities.
Dare to Share, a concept created by Marc Buhrer, in the past few years has served over 15 000 meals, collected close to 2000 blankets for the needy and with the help of Samantha
Laird (JMC) over R150 000 worth of organic baby food has been donated to those less fortunate in Cape Town.
The three charities benefiting from Annual Charity Dinner are:
Masigcine Children’s Home
Masigcine (which means, “let us cherish”) is a registered Children’s Home, in Mfuleni, where 28 orphaned, abandoned and HIV infected little children between the ages of 3–months and 6–years of age live. The goal at Masigcine is to ensure that children, while in their care, receive the very best attention so that when they leave, their lives have been enriched and a good foundation has been set.
Heaven’s Nest
Heaven’s Nest provides emergency care for children in Cape Town who have been neglected, abused or abandoned, including those who are HIV positive. These children stay at Heaven’s Nest for as long as it takes for them to be re-integrated with their families, or find foster or adoptive parents.
House of Grace
At an age where other couples with grown-up children of their own would be putting up their feet and taking life easy, Aletta and Gerrie Herbst have opened their hearts and their home to children in need. House of Grace is on a farm outside Fisantekraal and is a place of safety for abandoned and abused children who are sent to them by the police and Tygerberg Hospital.
Expect to be entertained by a variety of sophisticated sounds from some of Cape Town’s finest: Ricky Botsis, Jeremy Douglas & Candice Heyns.
