Taking place on 6 August 2014 at the Baxter Concert Hall and featuring three of the most talented international Folk and Blues performers, Original Voices will launch with a trio of performances from Sarah Blasko (AUS), Willy Mason (US) and Cat Power (US).

Willy Mason, a 29-year-old performer is no stranger to festivals and venues across the globe. With performances at Glastonbury Festival and with Ben Howard, Mumford and Sons, KT Tunstall, Radiohead, Beth Orton, Death Cab for Cutie, this seasoned musician will make his South African debut in Cape Town.

His singles, ‘Oxygen’, ‘Save Myself’, ‘We Can Be Strong ft KT Tunstall’ and 2013 single ‘Talk Me Down’ have established Willy Mason as the future of Blues and Country.

Australian native, anti-Folk solo artist, Sarah Blasko will add two South African performances to her already impressive list of festivals and artists she’s performed with; including Tom McRae, Ray LaMontagne, James Blunt, The Temper Trap and Snow Patrol. The ‘I Awake’ singer will perform first at the Original Voices show in Cape Town before heading to OppiKoppi.

Last but not least, rounding out the performance will be American native, Cat Power. The constant evolution of Cat Power has resulted in her sound being a mix of Punk, Folk and Blues as well as elements of Soul. Cat Power has collaborated with major names including recording vocals for Faithless, El-P, Beck as well Jesse Harries and Terry Manning.
