Swedish band Little Dragon sets hearts aflame with the announcement of their second tour to South Africa. Following a sold-out tour of South Africa in 2012, Little Dragon returns armed with a new album and their ever-eclectic sounds.
The band, much like their musical styling, is a diverse mix of individuals. Yukimi Nagano, Erik Bodin, Fred Wallin and Håkan Wirenstrand make up Little Dragon – a band that blend strands of R&B, electronic and indie into beautifully, meaningfully-crafted songs.
Over the course of four critically-acclaimed albums, Little Dragon have established themselves as a band keen to never rest on their laurels – constantly prodding and playing with the boundaries of their sound. And this sound seems to resonate with the South African youth, themselves a mashup, never ones to pigeonhole what they’re into.
The Red Bull Studios are known for their work at growing the ever-vibrant local music scene and as such it seemed apt to pair Little Dragon’s tour with key South African artists piquing interests both at home and abroad. Not only will these artists support Little Dragon on stage during the tour but they’ll spend a couple of days in the studio in Cape Town collaborating.
The band hasn’t stopped expressing its love for the country since they left our shores and their excitement to return has been more than present across their social media platforms.
With singles such as Klapp Klapp, Ritual Union and Constant Surprises, Little Dragon is really an act not to be missed. Tickets are available at Webtickets.
