The Community Chest Carnival is back, with all the old favourites revived for those who were there for the good old days. But it’s also in with the new … gourmet food trucks, wine tasting, craft beers, phenomenal rides, and a pop-up cinema.
The Community Carnival pop-up cinema will be featuring a series of documentaries paying tribute to music legends every evening throughout the four-day family event at 20:30, this will also include their music videos.
Celebrate the life of starman David Bowie on Wednesday, pay tribute to the most recent member of the 27s club Amy Winehouse on Thursday and jam with Michael Jackson on Friday.
But for the last night of Community Chest Carnival – Saturday 2 April 2016 – the community’s choice of film will be revealed under the stars. Vote for your favourite documentary of a popular artist by sending their name to communitycarnivalcinema@gmail.com or posting on Community Chest of the Western Cape’s social media on Facebook www.facebook.com/CommunityChestoftheWesternCape or on Twitter – @CommChestWC
– it’s your choice as to which music icon will feature on the final night of Carnival where the world meets for good.
The winning documentary will be announced on Facebook and Twitter at 14:00 on Saturday 2 April.
There will be screening of short films made by Teens including a selection from the Ubuntu Youth Film festival and teenfilmmakers.tv every evening from 19:00 -20:00.
