Reddam House, Atlantic Seaboard is hosting a fun-filled family food fair day of culinary delights from around the world on Saturday 12 March.
The school’s Parents & Friends committee has chosen this annual event to raise donations and awareness for the underprivileged within its local community.
Along with an extensive array of international food, the event boasts some exciting activities from a petting zoo, jumping castles, kiddies rides, games and prizes. To tempt your palate there will be champagne and fresh oysters, sushi, boerie rolls along with Italian, Mexican, Japanese, South African and Indian food stalls. Freshly-made pancakes, home-made cakes, popcorn and candy will add to the festivities. There will be live music, games, rides, as well as a raffle table, fabulous prizes and silent auction that includes a 2 night stay at Manna Bay worth R11 000.
All funds raised from the event at the school in Green Point will be donated to beneficiary charities, selected by the committee. They have in the past included worthy organisations such as Somerset Hospital, the Salesians Institute, James House Youth Centre, Atlantic House of Hope, Prestwich Primary School, Tin Can Town and Includid Homes for the intellectually challenged.
In 2015 the committee adopted Forest House, one of the nine houses that form part of the Includid Homes programme, and, with the help of the Lions Club Sea Point. Reddam gave it a complete makeover. Each of the 16 residents received brand new beds, bed linen, towels, toiletries and were treated to a lunch served by the parents. They are hoping to adopt another house in 2016 – made possible with your support at the Food Fair.
