This past weekend saw the inaugural Pure&Crafted SA Festival take place at Ground in Muldersdrift, where thousands of people came out to experience the best in motorcycling, music, food, drinks and the outdoors.
Billed as Joburg’s freshest festival for new heritage, the two-day event brought together people from all walks of life, riders and non-riders alike, as there was so much on offer. Even a bout of rain on Saturday didn’t dampen any spirits as many people partied into the night.
Presented by BMW Motorrad, motorcycling and its associated lifestyle was a big part of the festival and was on display in many forms. Festival-goers got to see live stunts by French stunt rider Big Jim, who flew to South Africa especially to perform at the festival. Riders got to test ride new BMW motorcycles, enjoy some off-road riding and participate in out rides through the scenic Muldersdrift countryside. Both new and vintage BMW motorcycles were on display, with some even purchasing new motorcycles at the festival.
Other highlights included live music performances across the Main Stage, Forest stage and Munich Garden Stage. Incredible local acts who pulled the crowds included Mi Casa, Rubber Duc, Goodluck, The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Dean Fuel, Abby Nurock and many more.
Fallen Heroes’ live tattooing station was fully booked as people got inked, while Freedom Hair made sure the gentlemen were well-trimmed. Kids were kept entertained at the dedicated kids’ area that boasted face-painting, jumping castles and rides.
If that was not enough, a Guinness World Record was made at Pure&Crafted SA too! Gaviscon was awarded the honour after achieving the world record for “The Most Consecutive Crossings of a Pool of Non-Newtonian Fluid”. Well done to everyone who participated and made this happen.
The best festivals have the best partners. Pure&Crafted SA is proudly supported by e.tv, Sol, Strongbow, Frankie’s Olde Soft Drink Co., Bombay Sapphire, Jagermeister, Boschendal and Gaviscon.
