To celebrate its first birthday, local events company Sweet Nothings is hosting an exciting outdoor techno festival at the picturesque Slaley Estate in Stellenbosch on 28 October 2017. Festival-lovers can expect an exceptional outdoor experience, complete with the biggest techno lineup to hit the Western Cape including three renowned Brazilian techno artists, KRAFT, Thayana Valle and Black Jacket, as its headliners.
KRAFT, who will be performing his South African debut at the event, is an electronic music project created by Brazilian producer Paulista Jhonata Frota. Having begun his artistry at the early age of ten, his music has earned him a strong international following and many big names in the industry have performed his tracks.
DJ and producer Thayana Valle’s music has strong classic and vintage elements. She began her deep tech house and techno career in 2006 and her music has gained her international acclaim amongst techno-lovers across the globe.
Black Jacket (AKA Rafael Conde) will undoubtedly bring his differentiated musical talent to the lineup. This Brazilian DJ and producer presents a new concept of techno music that contains his trademark grooves. His work has gained support from large and respected names in the industry and he has performed at a number of major events in his home country.
A selection of local favourites will support the three international headliners. The curated lineup includes Durban-born DJ and producer Mogey, DJ duos Venture and Nordic, Confetti (consisting of well-known DJ Yeti and The Fogshow, who will be playing back-to-back), and Minx.
Venue
Only 48km from Cape Town’s city centre, in the idyllic Cape Winelands, Slaley Estate will be completely reimagined into Sweet Nothings’ vibrant new playground, complete with the brand’s signature setup that guests have come to know and love. There will also be a fully-stocked bar, selling ice-cold beverages, and food trucks to keep festival-goers nourished throughout the day.
Parking
Due to the limited space for parking, the organisers have decided to establish an eco-levy for vehicles. Vehicles with one passenger will incur a cost of R100 and vehicles with two passengers will be charged R50. Vehicles with three or more passengers can park for free. Therefore, it is advised to carpool, shuttle or Uber. All proceeds from the eco-levy will be donated to the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children.
