The South African International Tattoo Convention is a 3-day event that hosts 100 of the world’s best tattooers from over 17 countries at the beautiful Lookout in the V&A Waterfront. Giving you the chance to get tattooed by expert local and international artists specialising in a large variety of tattoo styles right here in Cape Town.
Over the convention weekend, there will be live bands, a beer tent, deck bar, food trucks and an outdoor goods market. The show is family-friendly and under 12’s get in free!
How to get tattooed?
All over the world, it is customary to visit a tattoo convention to take the opportunity to get a tattoo from a travelling tattooer whom you may not get to meet otherwise. So if you’ve been following along and you’ve been thinking about visiting the show… It’s really simple. Just get yourself to the show, meet and greet the massive selection of tattooers (from over 17 countries), check out their work, choose something you like and get tattooed!
If you want to be a little more cautious you can pre-book a tattoo you can contact your artist of choice via the website’s artist page directly to their Instagram or email them. The best time to do so is from about a month before the event.
