Tokara, the acclaimed family-owned Stellenbosch wine estate, took top honours in the 10-Year-Old Wine Report 2022 with their Director’s Reserve White 2012 awarded the highest score overall of 95/100 points.
Showing great consistency as a producer of wines of remarkable ageability, Tokara excelled as a top wine cellar in this annual competition for the 6th consecutive year. Tokara’s Director’s Reserve White, a consummate blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, was also the highest-scoring white wine for the 2011 vintage in last year’s 10-Year-Old Report.
Convened annually by Winemag.co.za, the Report showcases age-worthy South African wines.
“We pride ourselves not only on the consistency and longevity of our wines but also of our people. After more than 20 vintages, our viticulturist Aidan Morton is the scientist behind our vineyards. Coupled with the craftsmanship in the cellar of our winemaker, Stuart Botha, it’s a winning combination,” says Karl Lambour, Tokara General Manager.
These award-winning wines are a reflection of everything the estate stands for – refinement, elegance and balance and above all, are a true expression of place.
