Masc, a bold and hilarious one-man mask play by Aldo Brincat, returns to Theatre Arts for one night only. After a sold-out debut in February 2024, this original South African production is back by popular demand.
The public performance takes place on 30 September 2025 at 7PM at Theatre Arts in Cape Town, with day-time school shows on the 29th and 30th. Tickets are priced at R150 for General Admission and R80 for Students. Bookings can be made online at www.theatrearts.co.za.
A story about love. Friendship. And the messy beauty of growing up.
Set in the early days of South Africa’s democracy, Masc follows a teenager grappling with love, sex and identity. His worldview has been shaped by a repressive education system. But nothing prepares him for the chaos of real connection.
Years later, he looks back. He remembers a single relationship that changed everything.
Brincat plays every character. The performance is physical. Raw. Honest. Funny. Using clowning, poor theatre and mask work, Masc is layered, surprising and deeply human.
Directed by Sophie Joans. Written and performed by Aldo Brincat.
