English comedian Michael McIntyre is coming to South Africa

20130411-205101.jpgMichael McIntyre, an English stand-up comedian will be performing three shows in South Africa. He will be in Cape Town on 18 and 19 April at The Grand Arena, Grand West and then in Johannesburg on 20 April at The Coca-Cola Dome.

In 2012, with over 700k tickets being sold in the UK, he earned himself a place in the Guinness World Records as the highest grossing comedian in the world.

In 2011, He was a judge on the show Britain’s Got Talent. He also hosted Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Comedy Roadshow on BBC 1 Christmas Day, which was watched by more than eight million viewers.

After McIntyre’s big break at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006, his debut DVD, Live and Laughing, was the fastest selling of all time, only to be eclipsed by his second, Hello Wembley, which sold over 1.4 million copies.

McIntyre now hosts his own BAFTA-nominated BBC 1 series, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and has won British Comedy Awards for Best Live Stand-Up in 2009 and Best Male TV Comic in 2010.

Supporting him on this tour is British comedian Paul Tonkinson, who’s been on the UK comedy circuit for around 15 years now. His recent TV appearances in the UK include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live at The Comedy Store on Comedy Central.
