It’s the season of LOVE and Bay Harbour Market has a line-up of some amazing talents. From the bluesy undertones of pop-rock sensation Hotel Iris, to soul-stirring music of indie rock artist David Meulen, Bay Harbour Market resonates the love and passion of talented musos for the entire month of February.
On both Friday, Saturday and Sunday, The KWV Sound Stage is a platform to showcase musical creativity by both established and up-and-coming musicians.
Paint Club – Friday, 7 Feb (6pm)
Debuting on the Bay Harbour Sound Stage for Friday Nite LIVE!is pop band Paint Club. This Cape Town-based four piece band presents the talents of Uri on the banjo; Wessel on the acoustic guitar; Wes on the African drums and Dave on the bass. The band released their first single, ‘Wilderness’in 2013 and recently recorded their debut EP ‘Johannesburg’which releases this year.
Cotton Lane – Saturday, 8 Feb (1pm)
The fresh sounds of Cotton Lane came to life in early 2013 and they have been jamming at various Cape Town venues propagating their vibey material ever since. The band consists of Gabriel Buchalter, Richard Purcell, Matthew Henshilwood and Jordyn Laurier and was recently featured at The Surf Café during the Plett Rage 2013 as the up and coming trend band to watch. Definitely a must see as they lay down their debut performance on the Bay Harbour sound stage on Saturday!
The Goslett Project – Sunday, 9 Feb (1pm)
Ending the weekend on Sunday is jazz/fusion ensemble The Goslett Project. Headed up by accomplished guitarist Elton Goslett, this potent jazz fusion outfit also features COPA (Campus of Performing Arts, South Africa) graduate Michael Steyn on drums and experienced bassist Valentino Europa. These musos have paid their dues at venues across SA and promise to be a powerful performance.
