To celebrate Heritage Day, Shimmy Beach Club will host a market day for families on 24 September 2015, with a variety of stalls showcasing South African products. Entrance is free, and all stalls and suppliers offer something local. Shimmy Beach Club’s chef, Adrian, has devised a few firm favourites to sell on the day: pancakes, boerewors rolls, footlong cheese griller, beef or tuna espetadas (all on the fire); sushi, pizza or crayfish.
An a la carte menu is also available in the Shimmy Restaurant, with delicious choices from the winter menu. As per tradition, the resident DJ’s will set the laid-back vibe from the beach. It’s the ideal way to spend Heritage Day with friends and family overlooking scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean with boats sailing through the harbour. Dedicated au pairs can supervise children, while parents and grandparents enjoy the public holiday. Shimmy will cater for all variable weather.
